I believe this could be an exceptional reporting tool for grass. The
results for R are quite impressive

The ODF Toolkit Project
- -----------------------
"The future of OpenOffice.org extends beyond the office suite. With the
creation of our new ODF Toolkit Project (http://odftoolkit.openoffice.org/),
which we are announcing today, we are inviting developers everywhere to
take the source of the world's leading Free and Open office productivity
suite in bold new directions. These may include technologies that engage
tools for collaboration, communication and content creation of every kind;
tools that will complement and even transcend the already powerful
productivity suite. The anchor of this new project is the OpenDocument
Format (ODF), the ISO and OASIS standard format for office applications
and the most flexible and adaptable format for the future."

Yes interesting indeed!

Immediately I can think of a few possibilities. v.out.odg v.in.odg, but more interesting perhaps would be to build a map directly to odg (graphics) format? Some statistical modules could perhaps output to ods (spreadsheet).

For the moment being I'd be most interested in the possibilities of combining odf and a mapping. Unfortunately I don't think we have the resources for that at the moment (unless I start working on it, which I might). :frowning: So perhaps if we would have v.out.odg one could then proceed to complete the map with OOo. Things like north arrows and scale bars and grids would still be missing :frowning: Not to mention legends... Perhaps those can be added to the odg file?

Anyway... Thanks for an interesting find!
