[GRASS-dev] Backporting question

Hi,

I am getting lost in the today's submissions (which is nice).
Anything which I should backport to 6.2?

- recent gis.m fixes - maybe yes
- recent driver fixes - no
- recent freetype changes - no idea

right?

thanks
Markus

For freetype changes (d.m and d.text.freetype), yes.

Definitely for gis.m. These are bug fixes.

Please indicate which changes to do. There have been many in the
last few hours, so I am not sure which to take and which to leave.

Can you point me to the submissions here:

?
thanks

Hi Huidae, all,

freetype done (is gis.m not affected for this?) as indicated
below.

Michael: gis.m also done.

A new snapshot (more recent than beta2) is here:
http://grass.itc.it/grass62/source/snapshot/

It's important to test d.m, gis.m and freetype stuff.

Once all the freetype and font changes are in effect and I get/make a new
binary to work from, I can test these on my Mac (unless someone else wants
to do it).

If there is an advantage of putting a GRASS generated text layer (the new
combined d.text/d.text.freetype?) back into gism instead of the
TclTk-generated text, I can do that. However, it will take a bit of time to
redo the options panel and change the rest of the code.

There is no point in doing this until:

1) all the changes to text layer control and rendering are done (more to do
or is that all?), and
2) we know that freetype text renders on the Mac (the TclTk text shows up
fine on all systems).

I don't know whether you want to try and do this for 6.2 or not, given the
timing.

Michael

My suggestion is to not do it for 6.2. It is almost published.
Next week I can do the proposed change of v.bspline to
v.surf.bspline but I would not do heavy (yet untested)
changes.
