[GRASS-dev] Building GRASS on Windows with MS Visual Studio

hi,

there is a wiki for "building Grass on Windows with MS Visual Studio".
(http://trac.osgeo.org/grass/wiki/CompileOnWindowsMSVC)

there is a download link for "VisualStudio Express 2008"
(http://www.microsoft.com/express/Windows/)

but there are 3 different types of the VisualStudio Express:

Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition
Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition
Visual C# 2008 Express Edition

has anyone an idea which of them should be used?

If any, then that one.

But the page title is a little bit misleading. package.cmd only builds the
python extensions for wxnviz and wxvdigit. And there's no cmake involved.
Moreover even if the extensions compile and links fine, they don't work for
some undetermined reason. See #541.
