Was looking to create a new vector file to deliniate an area.
I have been repeatedly using qgis up to now (Ctrl+Shift+N) and was looking in GRASS for a (non-existing) menu entry “File->New” from some usability habit from other software.
Maybe this could be useful for users, File->New and/or Ctrl+Shift+N (common shortcut in many software)

hm, there is `Vector -> Develop vector map -> Create new vector map`,
but you are right, it's somehow hidden. Martin
