I've modified the display driver library so that it reads the original
stroke font files (hersh.oc? and *.hmp) directly; the files are no
longer compiled into a binary form (this solves one of the outstanding
issues with cross-compiling).
Everything seems to work okay (and adding debug code to dump out the
data from the driver essentially reproduces the original hersh.oc?
data).
However, there may be some issues which I've overlooked; e.g. I
discovered that d.font was generating the list of allowed values for
the font= options by listing the $GISBASE/fonts directory, so that had
to be fixed. If anyone finds similar issues, let me know.
