[GRASS-dev] Fontconfig error

Hi,

I was installing wingrass (beta3, standalone) on a Windows 7 computer (with Polish locale) and when I try to use any display command, no text is rendered. For example, legend is just the box with colors, not labels. I tried to run d.fontlist -l and I get:

Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file

Switching from cairo to png driver helps, text is drawn again. Anyone has any idea?

Thanks,

Anna

Another student is reporting this problem. Seems to affect more people than
I thought. Although it is enough to use png, some advice is still welcome.

I was wondering, could this problem be related to the missing dlls? I saw both problems on 1 computer and since the font config file seems to be missing, it looks like similar case. And both problems appeared at the same time.
