[GRASS-dev] GRASS 6.2.0RC3 released

Dear all,

the hopefully final release candidate GRASS 6.2.0RC3 has
been published. The following fixes have been done:

    * r.le.setup fixes (Glynn, Hamish)
    * default color map range (bug #5212) (Glynn)
    * fix v.digit/toolbox.tcl for tcl8.3 (Hamish)
    * update to EPSG 6.11.1 (Markus)
    * close GRASS after creating new location from file (Markus)
    * Fine tune intro text when launching GRASS in text mode (Paul)
    * gis.m zooming in mapcanvas.tcl (Michael)
    * missing Polish EPSG codes (Frank, Maciej)
    * initial Arabic translation (A. Masoud)

Please continue to test, especially gis.m. This release candidate
should be very close (or even almost identical) to the final
release of GRASS 6.2.0.

Thanks to all contributors - coders and testers!

Markus

Hi,

I have build Fedora FC4 RPMs on OSGeo's telascience machine
which are hopefully compliant to other 32bit distros:

http://grass.itc.it/grass62/binary/linux/

For easier installation, I have also put PROJ4, GEOS, GDAL
and GRASS-GDAL-OGR plugin RPMs there.

cheers
Markus

Hi again,

I have updated the RPMS to the official PROJ4-4.5.0

P.S. FC6, aka Zod, was just released yesterday.

Alas, will definitely need to be repackaged for FC6, due to x11
reorganization.

We hope for a volunteer... (say, I hoped that it would be within
FC6 - maybe an earlier version is?).
