doc feature requests item #284, was opened at 2007-02-13 00:46
Status: Open
Priority: 3
Submitted By: Hamish Bowman (hamish)
Assigned to: Nobody (None)
Summary: rasterintro.html should mention MASK, CELL, NULL
Doc section: introduction
Issue status: None
Initial Comment:
Hi,
raster/rasterintro.html needs to talk about MASK maps and how they work.
Also it should mention what CELL, FCELL, DCELL maps are, and also mention something about NULL support.
Beyond CELL/DCELL types, maybe mention something about category vs floating point (soil types vs DEM) maps? Both can be CELL maps, but they are logically different.
thanks!
Hamish

Hi Maciej,
would it be possible to shorten the new bugtracker
subject line prefixes?
e.g. this one,
Re: [GRASS-dev] [grass-doc feature requests][284] rasterintro.html should mention MASK
1 10 20 30 40 48
only at position 48 relevant info starts. With my 80x25
terminal I see on 80-48 chars which isn't much. It's getting
worse once an issue is discussed. (Re: Re: etc)
What about
[grass-doc feature requests] -> [grass-doc FR]
or simply
P: patch
F: feature request
I: issue?
Thanks,
Markus

Hi Markus
They are auto generated based on the trackers names. I'll shorten
tracker's names, but that's dirty - the links should remain self
explanatory I believe.
A "feature" of GForge it is. Please report such stuff to
http://wald.intevation.org/projects/siteadmin or to the GForge authors
directly. It would be optimal if there was an option to define a custom
email prefix I think.
e.g. this one,

I have shortened tracker's names - let me know what you think:

I have reported it to the Gforge bugtracker at Intevation.

Thanks, let's see with the next issues how it looks like.
