The manual of v.in.ogr informs only that "snap=float" and that "Snapping
threshold for boundaries, '-1' for no snap, Default: -1".

The manual links to "v.clean", yet IMHO, I shouldn't need more than just
typing "v.in.ogr help" in the command line to be informed that snap values
define "max. distance to another vertex in map units, degrees for latlon"

(Will propose a diff at some point, not very soon though)

Yes, has always been so. Do you want it to be changed to "max. distance to
another vertex in map units, meters for latlon" ?
