Frank W is in the process of adding better vertical datum support to
$everything in the support libs.

It would be good to feed that info, if avail, to { G_write_raster_vdatum()
| Rast_write_vdatum() }.
Also I am not sure about the status of vertical datum metadata in the
vector engine, but we could start to think about that as well.
