When using r.patch two patch one smaller and one larger raster layer in
GRASS 7 (revision 51117 and previous revisions), the new layer created is
of the extend of the first (smaller) layer. Regions extent is set to equal
that of the second larger raster layer.

In GRASS 6.4 the region settings are respected and the output raster layer
has the same extent as defined in the region settings.

This seems to be fixed in revision r51306 (also as reported by Markus Metz
[http://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/grass-user/2012-April/064399.html\]. I
have set the status to fixed.
