Hello,

for producing printproof maps (via ps.map in bash scripts) I would find
useful to have the possibility, beside the -s flag, to specify the map
name for the placeholder raster map of v.colors (placeholder=).

Current workaround I'm using is to parse v.colors stderr and grab the
vcolors_* map name.

Hi,

it sounds reasonable enough, I'll put it on my todo list for when I get
back to civilization. keep in mind that using the raster is just a cheap
work-around, hopefully we'll be able to do something a bit less hackish in
grass7.

Hi,

now backported to relbr64 with r57572.

I'm not sure if/how this is handled in trunk after the v.colors rewrite to
C, but as far as 6.x goes the wish can be considered closed.
