When downloading GRASS GIS for MS Windows, from the
[https://grass.osgeo.org/ GRASS GIS main page], user can go to
[https://grass.osgeo.org/download/software/ms-windows/ Download GRASS GIS
for MS-Windows] where there is a nice table where one can easily find the
download link for the latest stable release (it's first). However, instead
of downloading, user is taken to
[https://grass.osgeo.org/grass70/binary/mswindows/native/ Index of
/grass70/binary/mswindows/native] page where there is a list of several
links.
The links are past releases, MD5 sums and during RC period also RCs. The
text below doesn't explain any explanation of that. I don't think that RCs
should be presented together with stable releases without explanation.
Furthermore, I don't think that common Windows users care about MD5 sums
(although they are the ones who really should).
I suggests to replace the bold download link at the
[https://grass.osgeo.org/download/software/ms-windows/ GRASS download for
Windows website] by a direct link to the latest release. It would be of
course nice if there could be some general link (e.g. `WinGRASS-stable-
Setup.exe`) which would get redirected to the actual file (e.g.
`WinGRASS-7.0.2-1-Setup.exe`).
Under the table there could a be a sentence "See advanced options for
[https://grass.osgeo.org/grass70/binary/mswindows/native/ 7.0],
[https://grass.osgeo.org/grass64/binary/mswindows/native/ 6.4] and
[http://wingrass.fsv.cvut.cz/grass71/ 7.1]." This would be for the
advanced users which want more information, MD5 sums, RCs, or older
releases.
Trac related: 7.0.2 is now missing in the Version options and also
MSWindows 10 under Platform; perhaps a general MSWindows would be better.
