In the wxgui, one can add a subset of a mapset's map layers to a workspace
by using a wildcard search pattern; it would be useful to be able to use
the CTRL and/or Shift keys to make more precise selections, where the
desired maps do not conform to some common naming convention.

Thinking about it a little more, it's just as easy to click the checkbox
next to each map rather than use the Control key; but it would be useful
to use the Control key in combination with the Shift key to make multiple
selections of *blocks* of map layers to load at once.
