#574: Antivirus complains about a hidden
extension
---------------------------+------------------------------------------------
Reporter: timmie | Owner: grass-dev@lists.osgeo.org
Type: defect | Status: closed
Priority: normal | Milestone: 6.4.0
Component: default | Version: 6.4.0 RCs
Resolution: invalid | Keywords:
Platform: MSWindows XP | Cpu: Unspecified
---------------------------+------------------------------------------------
Changes (by marisn):
* status: new => closed
* component: Installation => default
* resolution: => invalid
* summary: standalone installer anti => Antivirus complains about a
hidden
extension
Comment:
It's a antivirus (Windows design) issue. As long GRASS uses x.yy.zzz
naming scheme and Windows requires special extension (.exe .bat .com) to
execute program, this issue can not be solved. Contact Your antivirus
software author to exclude GRASS from double extension check or add GRASS
files to that exclusion list manually.
Closing as invalid (not a GRASS bug).
