[GRASS-dev] [GRASS GIS] #590: wxGUI vector display forgets layer selection

#590: wxGUI vector display forgets layer selection
-------------------------+--------------------------------------------------

When opening properties dialog again, the previously selected layer number
in the selection tab gets replaced by 1 in devbr6 and by blank in trunk.
Other options are remembered. Layer number 1 behaves like -1 in devbr6,
all features are displayed, not only features in layer 1. Works fine in
6.4.0RC4, apart from that layer 1 can be selected even if layer 1 has no
features, but then nothing is displayed (correct in this case).

I used the test vector file of ticket #577 with no features in layer 1, 1
line in layer 3 and 4 points in layer 5.

Comment (by cmbarton):

When I open and then reopen the properties dialog for a vector the layer
number does not change. Maybe I don't quite understand the issue here. I'm
looking at this in the current (21 Sept 2009) version of devbr6 svn.

Hmm, maybe this is a problem of my system? Using current versions of
relbr6 and devbr6 (22 Sept 2009), the layer number still switches back to
1 after a split second if I selected layer 3 or 5 previously. The display
however still shows the correct selection for the previously selected
layer, that only changes after I manually change the layer number.

Martin,

Can you send me the multi-layer vector file that gives you trouble? I'll test it specifically.

Taken from ticket 577:
https://trac.osgeo.org/grass/attachment/ticket/577/test_5.gpx?format=raw

After import with v.in.ogr, the vector has no features in layer 1, 1 line in layer 3 and 4 points in layer 5.

Thanks,

Markus M
