Hello,
I cannot find r.in.external in the wxPython based GUI:
http://grass.itc.it/grass64/manuals/html64_user/r.external.html

Would it be possible to add support for
* r.external for a single layer
* r.external for multiple layers in the same way as it is provided with
r.in.gdal?

The same same applies to v.external.

I use grass64 compiled from yesterday's SVN rev.

Raster -> Develop raster map -> Link to GDAL

To tell the original need for this report:

I would expect the external support in

File -> Raster -> Link to GDAL

Because it is related to file management and not (new) raster development.
Is I understand, the external raster is not changed.

Probably there is reason why it's located in

Raster -> Develop raster map
