All,

Is there any nightly build of grass70 for ubuntu/debian? Anyone maintaining PPA packages?

I think we need to activate ourselves here too.

I regularly re-compile stuff (from the scratch) on my (Kubuntu-)box. So, I
keep thinking to contribute once I solve the puzzle why it isn't just enough
to package deb's on my (64-bit) box and load-em up in launchpad.

There are certain things I don't know/understand yet and I need the time to
dig-in.

Since there is a new version around the corner, would you be interested to help packaging 6.4.3 for debian/ubuntu?
Things have been very busy for me lately and I have been left behind on this.

Perhaps combine this with your grass7 efforts?

Since 6.4.3 is in RC, lets have this packaged in ubuntugis-testing at first and when we hit final, move it to stable.

This could be automated with something called recipes in Launchpad.
It can create packages for all Ubuntu versions.

I will look into this at some point later.

Using the debian.tar.gz that Rashad provided, I created 6.4.3RC2 builds for ubuntu precise(12.04), quantal(12.10) and raring(13.04).

I had tested the ppa packages on ubuntu precise and there seems to have some issues

grass startup script not working
conflicts with existing packages from ubuntu repository grass-core

I had fixed both of them in ubuntugis-testing PPA. Please update your ppa packages as well
and do the testing again.

dont have any other distro with me right now. So anyone please test on remaining distros.

latest Packages of GRASS 6.4.3 in ubuntugis-testing archive seems pretty good.

I will continue testing and will report any issue if any within a day or two

Using the debian.tar.gz that Rashad provided, I created 6.4.3RC2 builds for ubuntu precise(12.04), quantal(12.10) and raring(13.04).

We need to have this heavily tested if we want this version to end up in UbuntuGIS-unstable and OSGeoLive 6.5.
