[GRASS-dev] how to change areas to lines and keep attributes

Any suggestions how to transform areas to boundary/lines AND attach the original area attributes? My goal is to color the boundaries of areas according to the value of an attribute, while leaving the fill transparent.

Which attribute would you attach to a boundary common to two areas ?

My goal is to color the boundaries of areas
according to the value of an attribute, while leaving the fill transparent.

Why don't you just do that directly with areas using d.vect col= fcol=none where= ?
