may be of interest I hope...
I tried to install without success wxpithon gui on a debian testing OS.
The problem was that module wx wasn't found by python:
python
import wx
No module named wx
at this point I have tried to remove, install packages...
Installing "python-wxgtk2.8-ansi" in place of "python-wxgtk2.8" the
problem was solved..
I don't know the reason
