is there any description of the r.li configuration format? My colleague needs to write the config file in a script and it’s little bit difficult to reverse engineer that.

No, I'm sorry. He can try to understand the RLIWizard class in
rlisetup/wizard.py [0]
For moving windows example he could also see r.diversity [1]
Otherwise I could help him if he tell me which options he want use.
