[GRASS-dev] r.los on windows question

+1

r.viewshed would be the far better alternative.
Are there any indications as to what causes the
problems with r.viewshed output?

also if anyone is interested r.viewshed from wiki addons only needs some
cleanup and small bug fixes to have a LOS app which scales a lot better.

Given the extreme speed improvement of r.viewshed from addons
I consider fixing r.los a waste of time.
BUT: there is a precision fix needed in r.viewshed, see:

I *feel* that somewhere the precision is cut.
I don't know much about C++ so I have no idea
how to verify this.

If it is a trivial fix, and right in front of us, we might as well do it.
It is a small cost to have a working & well tested LOS module in 6.4.0,
even if it is horribly slow.
