Hi,
I created an addon r.mess, which is on the grass addon SVN (https://svn.osgeo.org/grass/grass-addons/grass6/raster/r.mess/). Installing the addon using g.extension works only partly for me as the help file is not ‘installed’ properly. It is copied to the html directory in my addon folder (/home/paulo/.grass6/addons/docs/html in my case), but it doesn’t show up in the r.mess window (no ‘manual tab’). Compiling instead of using g.extension gives the same results, no ‘manual’ tab.
Any idea what I should do to make this work (and whether the problems lies with my grass installation / configuration or with the addon files)?
Cheers,
Paulo

Hi Paulo, I think that this is really a mailing list message... g.extension remains a tricky beast. It should be in the parent Makefile but that's unrelated. Only relevant for testing purposes and WinGRASS executables. Best Markus On Thu, Nov 22, 2012 at 11:54 AM, Paulo van Breugel [<p.vanbreugel@gmail.com>](mailto:p.vanbreugel@gmail.com) wrote:
Hi Markus I am just trying to install r.mess on GRAS 6.4, and it works (albeit with an error message that installation failed, but that happens with all extensions), except that the help file is not 'installed' properly. It is copied to the html directory in my addon folder (/home/paulo/.grass6/addons/docs/html), but it doesn't show up in the r.mess window (no manual tab). When installing other packages, the help file does show in the 'manual' tab (but without synopsis, flags and parameters, which I reported to the grass-dev list in a separate email as that might be a more generic problem). What I did notice is that r.mess isn't listed in the Make file in the svn folder 'grass-addons/grass6/raster'. Should it, and might that have something to do with the help file not showing up in the 'manual' tab? And if it should be listed there, should / could I add it to the Make file? Cheers, Paulo
