I had at least two students, both running VISTA, who were getting error message when running
r.patch. I cannot reproduce it on XP (on anywhere else).
Has anybody seen this?

While attempting r.patch, from both the command line and GUI, I get the error message, “This application has failed to start because libgrass_gis.6.4.0svn.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem” (see attached screenshot).
There used to be a ticket for this
(http://trac.osgeo.org/grass/ticket/118) but it was closed as
worksforme. Looks like the issue hasn't been entirely resolved but the
suggestion on the ticket was to disable UAC.

I just tried r.patch on my vista machine without any problems (UAC
disabled already). Can you be more specific about the way the problem
occurs?
