I was trying to use r.sun.daily to get the total insolation time between two dates, but I see that insol_time is not an available parameter in r.sun.daily.
Was there any reason to not include insol_time in r.sun.daily script?

I don’t remember any specific reason, it certainly looks like it would be possible. You can create a feature request or even a PR:
