I am also not quite sure about the need of the 6.5 branch?
For me it is sufficient to have 6.4 as production system and 7 as
experimental system.
Honestly, who’s using it as a user?
Because: yes, it can (could?) be branch to be used for testing but
I actually don’t know anyone who really uses 6.5 for work.
Please tell us if you use 6.5 for work to understand if this branch is
really needed.
I use 6.5 for work. As a user, I can say that it is actually the most usable IMHO, G7 is not stable enough and the 6.4 is not so up-to-date.
My 2 c.

Markus

that’s an other one …
i’m using 6.5 for my daily job with really good satisfaction.
6.4 is out of date if compared with 6.5 and 7.0 is too much unstable beacouse of the gui (wx on osx is a pain)

Please explain what's missing in 6.4 with respect to 6.5...
I made twice a *full* diff of 6.4 and 6.5 (yeah, it takes days) and backported
whatever was appropriate leaving out a few new features. I am not aware
of 6.4 being out-of-date with respect to 6.5 but I wil be wrong.
With your help we could check if we forgot to update (or left out on purpose).
thanks
Markus
Markus,
you are right, I was not up-to-date about the last release of 6.4 since I used massively 6.5. Today I compiled it and the addons that i use, and at a first glance looks like there is nothing relevant missing. I’ll keep using 6.4 and will report if anything goes wrong.
Thanks,
madi
