Hi,

due to the now fixed:
#3692: The python gcore message() function does not work in 7.4.2

This fix is important to be released since otherwise users willl be
confused due to the lack of messages.
... we need to release asap!

Proposed time schedule (https://trac.osgeo.org/grass/milestone/7.4.3)
- Proposal of release: 20 Nov 2018 - [DONE]
- Soft freeze of release branch: 21 Nov 2018
- RC1: 22 Nov 2018
- Final release: 26 Nov 2018

When do you think the new r.mapcalculator can be introduced in GRASS core?

It would be great to be introduced in one of the 7.4.x release cicle, to be used with QGIS 2.18.x.

Before we release this in a (any) stable version, I would like to get some feedback regarding the name. Note that both r.mapcalc and r.mapcalculator would be available when using GRASS GIS directly.
