Hi devs,
As some urgent fixes have been accumulated, let's prepare the GRASS
GIS 7.8.5 release.
This is the 7.8.5 milestone in GH:
https://github.com/OSGeo/grass/milestone/5
--> Due by December 16, 2020 92% complete
I would actually like to anticipate it as much as possible.
What's still to be done for 7.8.5?
Best,
Markus

to my understanding only #1150 is a blocker.
+1 for releasing 7.8.5 ASAP.

It has been solved and we reached 100% for the 7.8.5 milestone:

+1 for releasing 7.8.5 ASAP.
I'll prepare RC1 today.

Thanks - I hope both the Windows and the Ubuntu version received some testing.
I have packaged it for Fedora and EPEL at

The 7.8.5 milestone:
https://github.com/OSGeo/grass/milestone/5
shows one open backport
https://github.com/OSGeo/grass/pull/1161
Any opinions on it?
Here the changes after the RC1 release:

I'd suggest publishing it as "final" once back to 100% for the
milestone (i.e., decision about the PR above).

Hi everyone,
I compiled release branch yesterday, it seems to work fine in my Fedora 32… gui does not crash, raster and vector maps are displayed well, raster legend works, png export too, mapswipe too… seems fine to me.
Cheers,
Vero
