I switched from Ubuntu 14.04 to Ubuntu 16.04 and have just compiled GRASS 7.3dev from source (r69054). It all seems to work fine, but at start up I get the message:
Debug: Failed to connect to session manager: SESSION_MANAGER environment variable not defined
GRASS was build with Python 2.7.12 and wxPython 3.0.2.0. In an earlier email about the same debug message, it was suggested to set
export SESSION_MANAGER=1
Doing so before starting GRASS gives the same as reported by Andy:
_IceTransOpen: Unable to Parse address 1 04:57:44 PM: Debug: Failed to connect to session manager: Could not open network socket
Up to now I don’t see any further effects, so I am wondering if I could / should do any further testing?
