[GRASS-dev] Weekly snapshot - link with non-changing name?

Hi

I have a homebrew recipe for installing grass 7.1 on a Mac. But whenever
I want to update to a new weekly snapshot, I have to change the URL from
which to download the weekly snapshot.
Would it be possible to add a link, e,g,

,----
| http://grass.osgeo.org/grass71/source/snapshot/grass-7.1.weekly_snapshot.tar.gz
`----

so that the URL used can stay the same?

Thanks,

Rainer

Yes, done:

http://grass.osgeo.org/grass71/source/snapshot/
--> grass-7.1.svn_src_snapshot_latest.tar.gz

this is a link to the latest snashot file.

Quick follow up - is the weekly snapshot supposed to be more stable than
the svn version, or is is simply a snapshot taken automatically once a
week?

Thanks,

The latter. It is really just a automatic snapshot, not a tested release.

Thanks - so I will then use HEAD of the svn - easier to do in homebrew,
as no sha hash is needed of the downloaded file.

You want me to generate that?

No - no need. I just tell homebrew to download head from svn and than to
compile it - it works.

I will post a link to the recipe later this week. This will make testing
of GRASS 7.1 easy on OS X.

I will post a link to the recipe later this week. This will make testing

And it can be combined with:

Yes. Although, there are some inconsistencies (some test fail because they
expect the basic nc spm). However, this all should change because we should
switch to the new sample dataset naming scheme [1]. Needless to say,
volunteers needed.

Is (or will) the dataset be on a svn or git? This would make always
using the latest one very easy.

No - no need. I just tell homebrew to download head from svn and than to
compile it - it works.

I will post a link to the recipe later this week. This will make testing
of GRASS 7.1 easy on OS X.

And it can be combined with:

    cd /grass/source/code/root
    ./bin.../grass71 ~/grassdata/nc_spm_08/PERMANENT/ \
        --exec python -m grass.gunittest.main \
        --location nc_spm_08 --location-type nc

Perhaps to be added here
http://grass.osgeo.org/grass71/manuals/libpython/gunittest_running_tests.html#running-tests-report
?
