[GRASS-dev] wxgrass Location Wizard scroll issue in EPSG code selection

Hi,

[have added a makefile to gui/wxpython/ to have it automatically
installed if Python available]

I am testing the nice location wizard. There is a scroll issue
when searching in the EPSG DB for codes:

- "Search in code description":
   enter "UTM"

The list lacks a scroll bar... (in essence two scroll bars: one for x,
one for y direction). Since I cannot resize the location wizard window,
I cannot really navigate there.

Could this be fixed?

thanks
Markus

An additional wish for the EPSG browser of the Location wizard:

- either sort numerically by code (currently it seems to be string sorted)
- and/or enable sort-by-column through clicking on the column name

thanks

Maybe a link to http://spatialreference.org/ could be included.

A extra button: "Look-Up your EPSG-code on the web". This button could link to the above mentioned address.
Also a explanation why or what the EPSG-code is good for (the Mapserver docs have nice examples) would be nice.
Many migrating users would never have heard of EPSG...

Kind regards,
Timmie

A nice idea, albeit subject to volatility of some else's website.
Link the button to something we control like a page GRASS's wiki or
OSGeo's wiki or grass's osgeo web pages? Then old versions don't have
hardcoded deal links one day.

mouse-over tooltip?

Many migrating users would never have heard of EPSG...

true
