Not for CRAY, but we have compiled it on sara's IBM 3090. AIX on this one
is said to be 10 times faster then the fastest workstation around.
Compilation was only slightly faster (approx. 10%). Running programs like
r.mapcalc couldn't even compete with our local Suns. The problem seemed to
be in data transport.
