Hello folks,
Does anybody has experiences with installing GRASS5beta3 on 64 bit ULTRALinux or SOLARIS 7.0. I would appreciate list of possible difficulties when doing installation.
Thanks,
Rado

No, but Bill Hughes run it on GNU/Linux for alpha 64 bit and
I got it to run on DEC Unix for alpha 64 bit.

You should definately get the next anticipated grass5.0beta (4).
If you are willing and able to do some bug fixing on it, Markus
might be able to give you acces to this upcoming version.
Otherwise: The portable vector format doesn't work and
64bit might have difficulties reading other people's grass data files.

I have compiled GRASS on an alpha DU and I strongly suggest you to wait
the next week for beta4. This should be much easy to compile. For me beta3
was quite difficult, lot of stops and changes to the code. This should change
in beta4

This is true. There is a temporary solution to that: before
porting the data on the 64bit architecture export
all the vector files to ascii (v.to.ascii). and once
on the 64bit platform do s.in.ascii.
