Do the ced.berkeley.edu people use DEC Alpha ?
Yes we do. We are finishing off the port right now, and testing it
out. Key problems have been that ints are 32 bits and longs are 64,
and a number of places they were assumed to be the same. Also,
pointers are 64 bits, leading to lots of invalid pointers. We also
wanted to make sure that the Alpha could read the portable vector
format, since we have a heterogeneous network of Sun, DEC/Mips,
SGI, and Linux systems.
Once we have completed first round testing, we will post the changes
required to let others test it out.
Thanks to James Ganong for his heroic efforts on this port!
