Aren't GRASS vector polygons considered closed? (i.e., they start and end
on the same coordinate pair?) Or does "closed" mean something more?

Sorry for my inadequate explanation: afaik GRASS doesn't mind about
sharing a boundary line between polygons, but MapInfo does, so you need
to create duplicate lines for MIF export. That's what I wanted to say, at
least.
