[GRASS-user] 3D view not working on Ubuntu 12.04 GRASS 6.4.3

Trying to activate the 3D view ona float raster (DTM) doesn’t work. I get an empty window while in the console I get:

(python:16855): Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_range_set_range: assertion `min < max’ failed

(python:16855): Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_range_set_range: assertion `min < max’ failed

(python:16855): Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_range_set_range: assertion `min < max’ failed

Python 2.7.3
wxPython 2.8.12.1

Hi,

I am not sure if that could help, but you can follow the instructions here:
http://grass.osgeo.org/grass64/manuals/wxGUI.Nviz.html (under NOTE section) and don’t forget to restart the GUI.

thanks. I’ve tried changing the depth buffer, according to the suggestion on the page, but any value I try causes different errors. No one is working.

I’ve found the problem. The region was too big to allocate. I was able to spot it thanks to the tcltk interface, which has given me the right information (memory allocation error).
