Hey Folks,
Canadians are usually pretty silent. But when it comes to free data we want to tell the world (or some of us do at least).
Although the Spearfish dataset is great for training and such we wanted to undertake the challenge of building our own such dataset. Perhaps some day it will be used in class rooms to teach students about Canada’s geography and how to use GRASS. See out Tutorial section bellow.
GRASS Atlas of Canada 0.1
The Ottawa OSGEO group has put together an Atlas of Canada Dataset to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Atlas.
The original source of the data: http://geogratis.cgdi.gc.ca/clf/en?action=canadaFrameworks
Atlas in GRASS Format: https://ottawa.osgeo.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=87&expandFolder=87&folderID=86
The data has not been sub-licensed officially yet. But always consult the source data licence for acceptance of use

Tutorials:
More tutorials will come about as we make more use of the datasets. Probably as school comes back in September we’ll get these started again. Check out what we have so far

Please post back to this group to provide feedback or visit the http://ottawa.osgeo.org local chapter site and join the mailing list there for up to date discussions
If you find this dataset fun, useful, informative or a positive contribution to the GRASS community please post with a +1 to this list UNDER THIS THREAD
If you would like to add something, fix something or make things clearer, by all means let us know you want to help.
