New question. When I take measurements with the NED file, GRASS gives the measurements in minutes. I presume this refers to latitude and longitude. Is there a way to change it so that it takes measurements in meters, kilometers, feet, or miles? I suspect that you can convert the region to UTM coordinates. I am not sure I want to do that yet.
Any thoughts?
