Anyone ever tried to import the E-OBS climate data [1] into GRASS temporal
framework?
Some hints to share?

Hi Helmut,
Which particular dataset there you want to use?
There is a presentation from Soeren at 2012 GEOSTAT course [0] in which he uses one of ECAD datasets as example. Maybe useful?
What are you interested in doing, if I may ask?
Cheers,
Vero

Hi Veronica,

thanks for the hint!
Which particular dataset there you want to use?
http://eca.knmi.nl/download/ensembles/download.php#datafiles
daily mean temperature TG,
daily minimum temperature TN
daily maximum temperature TX
daily precipitation sum RR
what are you interested in doing, if I may ask?
I have vegetation samples across Europe, from the North to the South, from
the West to Caucasus. as this vegetation types are sensitive to temperature
and precipitation, such parameters may be included in ecology pattern
analysis.

ECA&D contain some serious errors:
1. look at the spatial distribution and location of the stations used
http://eca.knmi.nl/download/ensembles/data/ensembles_tg_stations_v12.0.txt
http://eca.knmi.nl/download/ensembles/data/ensembles_tn_stations_v12.0.txt
http://eca.knmi.nl/download/ensembles/data/ensembles_tx_stations_v12.0.txt
http://eca.knmi.nl/download/ensembles/data/ensembles_rr_stations_v12.0.txt
2. calculate annual averages and check if they match your
expectations. They did not match my expectations (and those of my
group) so we decided to ditch ECA&D.

If possible, use a datasource different from ECA&D.
