I have created some polygons for 4 different classes by digitization.The
current names they are having as 0. which I want to edit/rename as
urban,water etc.
How shall I do it ?

I am not sure if you can have a class as zero, so:
r.reclass
r.category

If I correctly understand your problem is simply resolved by r.category command.
