[GRASS-user] g.region error

Hi all,
I updated my ubuntu to 9.10 Karmik.
Launching grass (6.4 rc5-2) it returns this error message on terminal:
“ERROR: MAPSET PERMANENT - permission denied”.
and an error (after tcltk gui has started) about g.region.

Can anyone help-me?

You must be the owner of the directory for the current mapset. This
check is built into GRASS, and is independent of the OS permission
checks.

Either change the ownership of the PERMANENT directory, or create a
new mapset.
