[GRASS-user] Geomorphons - non-projected input DEM

Dear All,

I computed Geomorphons using a DEM in lat, lon format. I defined the parameters in meters. Does anyone know how the module deals with this? Does it reproject the DEM? Or simply calculates how many cells that distance would correspond to at a certain latitude? The latter case would correspond to latitudinal differences in “neighborhood” size.

Hi Marco,

I assume that Geomorphons uses meters, however, it may interpret the parameters based on the units of your DEM (degrees). Personally, I would reproject your DEM to meters before trusting the output. Another option would be to contact the original authors (- Jarosław Jasiewicz
