[GRASS-user] Google Trends: GRASS GIS

Hi,

http://www.google.com/trends?q=grass+gis&ctab=1&date=all&geo=all
"Google Trends aims to provide insights into broad search patterns.
It is based upon just a portion of our searches, and several
approximations are used when computing your results.
Please keep this in mind when using it."

A trend diagram over time is shown there.
It's fairly Italy biased in my opinion...

Markus

why not comparing it with esri arcgis

not quite sure it is meaningful (or, if it is, is depressing, eg:
http://www.google.com/trends?q=linux&ctab=1&date=all&geo=all
).

the ultimate comparison

http://www.google.com/trends?q=grass+gis%2C+sex&ctab=1&date=all&geo=all

no good, no good

--------------------
W polskim Internecie s? setki milion?w stron. My przekazujemy Tobie tylko najlepsze z nich!
http://katalog.panoramainternetu.pl/

You have to compare the *right* words!

http://www.google.com/trends?q=grass%2C+arcgis&ctab=1&geo=all&date=all

Anyway, not all people are looking after "GRASS", but after something
like

http://www.google.com/trends?q=free+gis&ctab=1&geo=all&date=all

But the trend seems to be the same. Why?

At least for me, 4 of the 5 top results are "our" grass.

Well, I would say the grass is green!

As for the "declining trend" if I am reading that correctly, take a
look at the competition:
