Preparing for hydrologic modeling I upgraded the local grass7_trunk source
code, configured, built, and installed it. Now in /usr/local/bin/ there are
two grass versions:
72243 Nov 1 06:54 /usr/local/bin/grass73*
74912 Dec 13 16:46 /usr/local/bin/grass75*
Has the development version jumped from 7.3.svn to 7.5.svn?

Yes.
The version was updated when starting the 7.4 release branch.
