[GRASS-user] Grass Book

Markus, Helena,

I am almost buying the Grass Book from our friend at Hannover, but
before doing this, I must ask if you are planning a new edition in the
near future...

cheers

In fact we have recently signed the contract for the 3rd edition. Deadline
is in December, so don't expect it on the market before spring 2007.

Now it depends on how you define "near future"

To clarify: I meant the US spring time where the publisher is - so
3/2007 or so.

Markus, Helena,

I have been stalling on buying your book for one reason only- the vector stuff changed between Grass 5.x and Grass 6.

I’m assuming your new edition (3/07) will include Grass6 and examples based on new vector things?

I have definitely been struggling with vector in Grass, especially with the database part, and the interactions between vector and raster (e.g. efficiently extracting raster data from multiple rasters corresponding to a vector layer). Any chance your new edition will ahve examples on these aspects?

Thanks,
vishal

yes, that will be the case.
Meanwhile, the Wiki and list list might be helpful.
