Hi,

Which grass gis book is best for beginners?
any recommendations.

   Are you interested in spatial analyses in general or GRASS specifically?
If the former, there are many publications, as dead tree books, downloadable
PDFs, and on-line resources. For raster work look for references on map
algebra, for vector work, remote sensing, and other aspects the "best" is
the one that addresses your needs in a way you easily follow and understand.

   For GRASS, specifically, the web introduction and examples are the best
place to start. Remember, grass is a comprehensive set of tools and you need
to know which tool you need for a specific purpose. Then the manual page and
this mail list helps you learn how to use that tool.

Thanks Rich, i am interested in the mechanics of Grass. i understand the concepts and i am interested in knowing where to clic, how settings have to be set etc…
