[GRASS-user] GRASS Presentation

Hey Folks,

I want to do a presentation to a group of OSGEO people on GRASS, but I don’t want to create the presentation from scratch. I am wondering if this type of presentation alrteady exists… something that can give a good overview of the GUI, Tools, Abilities and History… looking at 45 to 60 Minutes.

And if this resource is not already available on the website then maybe this is a good time to request one.

Please contact me directly.

Cheers

Hi David!

I am CC-ing the list on this first message just for the record.

I have a couple of presentations (ODP format) which I would be happy to share.
In addition, Markus has a tremendous set of slides on GRASS history which you
will need to talk to him about.

Let me know if you are interested.

Cheers,

ODP is oPen Presentation format eh?

I would be interested. Can they be modified at all?

This would be great to have access to. Putting together good
presenatations take a lot of work so sharing other people's successess
would be great.

Will you post them in the GRASS wiki or send them directly?

I look forward to seeing what there is.

Markus,

Any thoughts on other presentation material?

Hi there David,

Although they are not specifically GRASS presentations, I do have quite a
few OSGIS presentations that have GRASS material in them. There are a
couple at:

http://www.reprojected.com/geoblog/presentations/

Feel free to slice, dice, and walk away with what is useful.

Hi list,

I_m trying to use r.out.gdal to export a subgroup (created by i.group) as GeoTiff. I only manage to export groups. Is it possible to use r.out.gdal using subgroups?

Hi David,

you can grab a couple of presentations from my IRST homepage:
http://mpa.fbk.eu/markus/conferences.html

All in ODP format (e.g. supported by OpenOffice), licensed under
CC-BY-SA. See always the last slide in my presentations how this
works (essentially, cite with attribution).

If the ODP isn't linked, substitute the .pdf extention in the link
with .odp  If this fails, just ask me, then I forgot to put it there.

I guess you find material for a few hours there...

Not yet linked above:
http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/Osaka_2007#Markus_Neteler
-> slides

Additionally:
http://grass.gdf-hannover.de/wiki/Category:Promotion
-> Promotional material

Hope this helps,
Markus
