Might it be that some DLLs conflict (or Python)?
FWIW I've got both installed here on a laptop without any cross-over
problems at all.

Dear all,
I have worked with Native Windows Stand-Alone (6.3) and OSGeo4W/MSYS/compilede 6.4R4 without problem on my Windows Vista 64bits. But two days ago I decided to “JUST” install QGIS, and after that nothing works for me ;-(
I can’t run 6.3 properly (as I not have cygwin running properly); 6.4 start to open a lot of windows, and after close all them without no error message; I removed 10x the C:\OSGeoW4, and tryed to follow
http://trac.osgeo.org/grass/wiki/CompileOnWindows
But everytime I get the same issue, when I try open Msys,
a lot a windows open recursively, and at the end, nothing happens.
Anu help are welcome.
Cheers

Dear all,
Just to inform that it is a know issue on VISTA 64, and a discussion can be found at
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=759325
and the bugfix (on my case) can be found at
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/mingw/MSYS-1.0.11-20070729.tar.bz2
Remembering that it only occurred when after have MSYS and GRASS installed and running I decided to install QGIS from OSGeoW4. May be during the QGIS intallation process automatically I got my MSYS updated for some version that not run perfectly on Vista64.
I suggest you put a note for new Vista 64 users.
