Hi,
Unfortunately I could not get that to work. Any other suggestions? Cloud processing perhaps?

doing this?
Shane,
Yes. As long as you have sufficient memory and drive space. You can always
set the environment variable in ~/.bash_profile:
export=GRASS_VECTOR_LOWMEM=1
which will use available memory and not crash, while running more slowly.
If I’m wrong I’m sure we’ll both read about it.

What happens? With 5 sq.m. pixels (that is your region setting?) and a DEM of 100,000 sq.km as you mentioned, then the DEM must contain around 100x10^9 sq.m or around 4x10^9 pixels. (4 billion pixels). That’s a lot… (You probably already did this calculation). So your DEM raster is probably some 15 GB ? You’ll need plenty of RAM.
