Jonathan,
The approach you are suggesting would be extremely useful for me. Coming from an ArcInfo background and now in the process of migrating to GRASS. I am willing to help out over time (the advantages of a wiki) in helping compile the reference table.
If you want a complete list of ArcInfo commands I can easily produce that as I still have access to ArcInfo.

Is there a way to establish a table in the wiki? I was thinking about
having a table with the headers: Arc command/feature, Grass command/feature,
and Notes which has links to more in-depth discussions of the comparisons
(so we can have an at-a-glace table of relevant features).

Hi!
I don't think that a tab would be nice for a user who is starting first step
in GRASS;
I think would be better to have a section about "The most common Question from
user who move from a proprietary software to GRASS".
For example:
How can i see my raster/vector image?
What is the difference between Location and Mapset?
The nice thing is that all user can help creating this part in the wiki: who
is going to post ML should check this section and see if the answer has been
already answerd and write it if it's not on the wiki.
Bye
Luca

I'd like to see some comparison between NVIZ and ArcScene. A guy
next-lab to me said that for 3D-scanner data (points with 3D coordinates
and luminance value) GRASS has better analysis tools such as voxels and
so, but ArcScene has cool visual features that NVIZ hasn't got. Someone
has other voices or personal experience about the two ?

Hi,
- Earlier Ottawa Grass Users Group has put a link to a thesis
comparing ARC with GRASS.
- A step by step comparison will help those who want to migrate immensely.
Putting on the WIKI is a better option.
- The TradOffs existing between ARC and GRASS must be of high interest.
Cheers

Pls note however, that the analysis is now outdated, and could be somewhat
misleading, as many new features were not included. This does not detract
from an interesting job, but is just to stress the need for further
comparison.
Please write any news on the wiki.
All the best.

Thanks to the fantastic evolution of GRASS,
